Berwick upon Tweed
Perhaps typical Border weather greeted us as we left a pleasant Northumberland behind us. The skies were as dramatic as the bridges we were to see and cross. Lots of strong stone buildings and alleyways that led to the town centre and out to the nearby coastline and the North Sea. Some of the alleys were representative of the Lowery trail; the site of some unique images from the famous artist who was a regular visitor to Berwick from the mid 1930s till a year before his death in 1976.
